The same two monitors are 0,1 on one day and 1,2 on the next. Is anybody else seeing this? Any idea why the numbers keep changing? As annoying side effect, the main monitor with the main taskbar is also changing each time, and the remote monitor that used to be left is then on the right and vice versa. Maybe there are internals even for this? Mose Bottacini. April 08, Thank you for posting this. Been trying to figure out how to do this. Chad Maxwell.

October 20, Huge help thanks for this! Taylor S. October 22, Unlike the Mac where I can choose to keep ‘some’ of the screens in the background, Windows forces ALL the remote desktops into the foreground if you click on any of them Unexpectedly this becomes a requirement instead of a nice to have on Windows.

This may be isolated to my setup but it’s strange compared to my past experiences. Yea, I’ve noticed it takes a long time to reconnect too. We call the built-in “Reconnect” method when resizing the connection. I opened to investigate that option. Microsoft Remote Desktop does it properly.

With it you can resize the window and have have no scroll bar, and no disconnect, so I believe mRemoteNG could do the same. Duplicate of Skip to content. Star 6. New issue. Jump to bottom. Copy link. Operating system Windows 7 x64 mRemoteNG version 1.

I’m guessing that is close to the full height of your display. The problem is that your Windows guests think that the virtual monitor is , so they are helpfully disallowing any display modes that use a widescreen ratio. This constraint is now stored in the windows registry somewhere, so you need to go through a few hoops to get around it.

First, make sure you are not in fullscreen mode: i. Make sure that View Auto resize guest display is enabled checked. If they are installed then there should be an icon on the guest taskbar which will tell you the GAs version and status.

Carefully drag the bottom edge of the VM window to reduce the screen height. You are trying to achieve a ratio, so with a display width you want a display height of , exactly. Shut down the VM completely not suspend , then restart it. We want windows to start up, seeing a ratio while booting up. This should make it happy to accept other ratios. As a test, it should now be possible to go fullscreen, or to use seamless mode without artifacts.

But, be careful about resizing the VM again using the guests display properties. IME Windows may still be confused about display sizes – I think it keeps a list somewhere of display sizes known to work with the current monitor, so now it will have a mix of and ratios, and you want to avoid the former.

You may have to manually create new display size hints, but it should at least now be allowing you to choose larger widescreen ratios. That’s a virtual graphics card feature, nothing to do with your virtual monitor at all! Re: Automatic resizing of Screen resolution by willib » Fri Jul 17, am I can resize the window but the screen resolution keeps stucks at a max of x I’ll try your suggestions and give feedback.
